Gold Medal Winner from WA: Fresh, Versatile Fiano
2021 Laissez Faire Fiano
With a bevy of awards behind it, Western Australia's Laissez Faire offers a stunning rendition of the Italian varietal, Fiano. As the name implies, this wine is made with a "let it be" approach, with no added tannin, acid, animal fining products and only a minimal amount of sulphur used at the time of bottling. Made with hand-picked, whole bunch pressed fruit from the spectacular 2021 vintage in Franklin River. A portion of the wine is fermented in old oak, with the rest in a concrete egg.
Aromas of quince and white figs with hints of yellow peach and mineral notes, finishing with subtle oak spices. On the palate, flavours of peach and hints of preserved lemon are balanced with a long and fine acid line, wrapped in a soft texture. A great alternative to Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, the Laissez Faire Fiano will complement seafood, salads, cream-based sauces or Asian fare. Cellaring potential up to 6 years. Vegan friendly.
