Named after a fortress that controlled the Roman countryside during the late Middle Ages, Castel de Paolis is a winery steeped in tremendous history. The flagship red of the estate is an impressive blend of four international varieties - Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot.

Medium to full bodied, 'I Quattro Mori' is made with fruit from volcanic soil, imbuing it with structure and character. Ruby red in the glass with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, spice and vanilla. The flavour is balanced, spice and mineral, with long tannins. Remarkable structure and persistence. The 2016 was awarded two glasses from Italy's most respected wine guide, Gambero Rosso, meaning it was classified as very good to excellent in its respective category.
