A delightfully elegant cool climate blend of two of Alto Adige's native red varietals - Schiava Gentile and Lagrein. The lightness, red fruit and candied aromas of the Schiava balances brilliantly with the slightly darker, more savoury character of Lagrein. From vines up to 50 years old, planted in the sandy, loamy soils of Bolzano. Ruby red in the glass, with notes of almonds, red berries and cherries on both the nose and the palate. This is a medium-bodied wine with hints of coffee and spices on the finish. Drinking well now, or can be cellared up to 5 years. A perfect partner for smoked meats, pizza or pasta, but also light enough to pair with white meats and cheeses. Gambero Rosso, 2 glasses (denoting very good to excellent in its respective category).
Gambero Rosso: "The Santa Magdalener Reisegger '20 was one of the most interesting wines tasted this year...generous, ripe aromas, where fruit finds support from the spicy overtones...the plush palate gracefully unfolds."
