From the rugged clifftops along the awe-inspiring Amalfi Coast, the Marisa Cuomo Winery enjoys one of the most scenic vistas in the entire world. The wines here are known as ‘extreme wines’ because of the extreme topography, weather and the tenacity required to produce them. In this unique microclimate, yields are low, but the wide temperature variations serve to maintain acid levels and the bright, sunny days ensure full ripening.
Marisa Cuomo’s flagship white, 'Fiorduva' is one of the most sought-after wines in all of Italy. At The Restaurant Pendolino, we find the reds to be equally enchanting. As they say at the winery, “the wines are the magical expression of a place of beauty beyond compare.”
Made from native Aglianico and Piedirosso grapes, the Costa d’Amalfi Rosso is ruby red in colour and fragrant, with aromas of cherry, raspberry and hints of black pepper. Medium bodied with well-integrated, fine tannins, fresh, balanced and persistent on the palate. This wine is an excellent match for charcuterie, red meat and aged cheeses.
