2022 Bruna Pigato 'Le Russeghine' Riviera Ligure di Ponente

From the famous Bruna winery on the Italian Riviera, the "Le Russeghine" Pigato (a distinct, local version of Vermentino) is made with grapes handpicked from the clifftop Russeghine vineyard above the town of Ranzo Borgo. The ancient red clay soil here is rich in iron, and lends itself to creating the fullest expression of Pigato/Vermentino. Aged in steel and large barrel on fine lees for 8 months. Exhibits great depth and minerality, as fruity aromas of yellow peach and grapefruit intertwine with sage, thyme and anise. Citrus fruits and almond notes abound on the finish.

This is a wonderfully enjoyable wine from a tiny, highly sought-after producer. Organic.
