This mixed pack includes 3 premium wines from Cantine Marisa Cuomo, on the beautiful Amalfi Coast — one of Italy's most celebrated 'hero' wineries.
Located in the town of ’Furore’ (or ‘fury’ in English), the breathtaking views from its perch on the rugged clifftops here are just as memorable as its wines. The extreme weather and topography of these terraced vineyards necessitate genuine dedication to viticulture. In this unique microclimate, yields are low, but the great temperature variations serve to maintain acid levels and the bright, sunny days ensure full ripening. As they say at the winery, “the wines are the magical expression of a place of beauty beyond compare.” Limited quantities.
2021 Marisa Cuomo Costa d'Amalfi Rosato - One of our most complimented rosé wines at The Restaurant Pendolino. Pale yellow in colour with hints of acacia, lemon verbena, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, citrus notes mesh with toasted almond on a long, fresh finish. A delightful accompaniment to seafood risotto, sushi, white meats and light pastas.
2021 Marisa Cuomo Costa d'Amalfi Rosso - 50% Piedirosso, 50% Aglianico. This blend of two native varietals exhibits a bright ruby red colour. The aroma is reminiscent of morello cherry, strawberry and light black pepper. On the palate, the wine is balanced and persistent, with fine tannins. The rocky soil here also imparts notes that evoke the minerality of wines from Mount Etna. Pair with red or white meat, stew, risotto or pasta.
2018 Marisa Cuomo Ravello Riserva - 70% Piedirosso, 30% Aglianico. The fruit for 'Ravello' is hand harvested from coastal terraces ranging from 300-400m above sea level, abundant with limestone rock. After undergoing fermentation and intense maceration for 20 days, the wine is matured for 12 months in new French oak barriques. Deep ruby red with garnet hues, intense aromas of forest fruit and wild berries, leading on to liquorice, vanilla and spice on the palate. 93 points, James Suckling; 93 points Robert Parker.
